1801 Clipper Ship Trumbull Dan Moore Master Manifest Norwich ConnThe ship Trumbull from Norwich Conn was a 536 ton sailing ship built in 1800.
Her Master / Captain was a Dan L. Moore.
This manifest is dated July 18, 1801.
Folded end reads:
"Freight List of Ship Trumbull Capt D.L. Moore from New York
to Bordeaux. Sailed from Staten Island 21st July 1801"
Ship was carrying Tea, Sugar, Cotton, Tobacco, Coffee,
Gum, Potash, Cocoa, Vanilla, bale goods & nankuns.
Also lists the names of the shippers and consigners in Bordeaux.
Manifest was originally folded (see photos)
Measures 20-1/2"W x 16-1/2"H.
Condition
Very good. Entries are all clear and written with beautiful penmanship.
Some splits on folded seams.
Found with this manifest is a page of ship information from the
Peabody Essex Museum Salem Mass Phillips Library.
It lists several ship and where they were built.
Several others were also named Trumbull but this is the only one that fits
the time line of the manifest as the rest were all built 1810 or later.
