    Description

For sale is an Authentic antique 1700s colonial period soapstone footwarmer with a iron handle. It is perhaps used as a sad iron trivet for a long time, which explains the scratches you see on one side. It is in wonderful antique condition,no cracks or losses. These scratches add good used look for this daily household item.
This iron is obtained from a recent full estate auction of the historic Richmond House in Ashford CT. The house is a giant treasure trove full of early American antique primitives. Going Inside of it is like stepping back into colonial history. I will be listing a bunch of new items acquired from this estate. The 1700s sad iron sat on the stone trivet when I saw them. Note, the sad iron is not included in this sale (It is for sale in a different listing).
It measures approximately 9” long, 6.5” wide and close to 1.5” thick. There is No visible damages but has age appropriate natural aging and wears. great antique patina, Please study the pictures carefully for detailed condition.
