"FOXY GRANDPA / CLOWN" TYPE NODDER
- Approx. 1910s - 1920s Germany (unmarked). 2" x 6.25" x 2.25". Hand-painted composition with original wood neck & base. Spring-activated bobbing head works well.
Expressive figural obviously patterned after cartoonist Carl "Bunny" Schultze's famous early comic strip character Foxy Grandpa. This unusual painted depiction of Foxy has him wearing clown facial make-up.

A scarce and extremely eye-catching figural with outstanding eye appeal.
Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Moderate scattered paint wear with scattered small paint chips. Mild edge chipping/scuffing with scattered minor hairline cracks under head (largest being approx. 1/2"). No other breaks or repairs. These imperfections are not overly apparent and detract little from the overall appeal of this uncommon piece (SEE PHOTOS).
