"HAPPY HOOLIGAN" COMIC CHARACTER FIGURINE
- Approx. 1910s-1920s. 3" x 8". Unglazed white ceramic bisque. Possibly German with numbers on bottom base reading "3534/2." Original detailed full figure statuette.
Happy Hooligan was a popular and influential early American comic strip by celebrated cartoonist Frederick Burr Opper.
Most of original paint (95% plus) is missing with traces of blue, black and orange. A well-made figural with nice overall eye appeal.
Condition of bisque is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain wear. No cracks, chips or breaks apparent.
Despite paint loss, we feel this item is still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos).
It would make an impressive figural for the VINTAGE COMIC CHARACTER MEMORABILIA enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated - (7-6).
