    Description

    "MUTT AND JEFF" COMIC CHARACTER FIGURINES
    - 1911. Painted brown toning on tan ceramic (plaster-like, probably chalkware). Mutt stands 9.25" high, Jeff is 5.5".
    You are buying two vintage statues. Names are on front of bases. 3/4" diameter metal insert on bottoms of bases reads - "Sold by Mark Hampton Co. Inc., Marbridge Bldg. New York City, Reg. 1911 Copyrights 1909-1910 by H.C. Fisher."
    A well-made figural pair with nice overall eye appeal.
    Condition is considered FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Several moderate ceramic chips, most noticeably around Mutt's nose and pants (upper back side) and Jeff's base edge (see photos). Misc. surface restoration on Mutt's pants front with one reglued break at waste area under coat (upper body is secure but slightly wobbly).
    Despite obvious defects, the visual integrity of this pair is still considered high. We feel they are still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos).
    Collectively, both would make an impressive figural grouping for the VINTAGE COMIC CHARACTER MEMORABILIA enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated - (6).
