TILLIE THE TOILER "LUCKY BUCKS" PLAY MONEY LOT
- 1932. Each approx. 4-7/8" x 2". Color litho on newsprint.
These attractive novelties were offered in the Sunday Comics section of the Baltimore Sun newspaper. They were on the same page as the comics, and designed to be cut out and collected as play money toys.
We are offering twelve examples, each with authorized Russ Westover characters. This cartoon series, created by cartoonist Russ Westover, centers around an attractive "flapper-style" female character (similar to Winnie Winkle). All are pre-cut from the 1932 Baltimore "funny pages".
Other comic strip images can be seen on the backs (they all appear to be from the Barney Google strip).

Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Mild surface creasing with no tears or separations. All have hand cut edging (some with somewhat erratically cut edges). Imagery is still bold, bright and attractive. Overall, we feel this is a very displayable grouping by most standards (see photos).
Collectively, they would make a great addition for the discriminating RUSS WESTOVER and/or VINTAGE COMIC CHARACTER MEMORABILIA enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated - (7).
