"SUPERMAN" EARLY VALENTINE'S DAY CARD
- (c) 1940 Superman Inc. 6.5" x 4.5". Color litho on die-cut cardboard.
Nice fold-out design depicting Superman flying over fence with two comic kids in foreground. This Superman Valentine's Day card series was produced shortly after the Man of Steel's first comic book appearance (1938). Highly graphic early image with great eye appeal.
Condition is considered GOOD to FAIR with moderate surface/stain/edge wear. Moderate surface creasing, most noticeably on Superman's extended right hand area. This fragile crease defect has litho separation & a partial tear at wrist, but still attached (possible minor glue restoration). Valentine greeting penciled on back. No other tears, chips or separations.
Overall, we feel this card is in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos). An outstanding early SUPERMAN display for the VINTAGE SUPER HERO and/or VALENTINE enthusiast. On a condition code scale of 1 to 10, the above listed item(s) rated (7-6).
