Up for auction is a 1961 Bubbletop Impala. Extensive work has been done to this car. Body was taken off the chassis. All body mounts were replaced, chassis was blasted and painted. The front end was completely rebuilt. All new drum brakes and lines. Dual reservoir master cylinder. Car was painted several years ago, always garaged, driven less than 50 miles in that timeframe, and the paint shows very well. Zero visible rust anywhere on the vehicle. New bumpers. Car has some filler in the rear wheel wells, but was done right. Doors, front fenders, and hood are fiberglass, and the fitment is less than perfect (I tried to capture this in the pictures). The trunk and floors were replaced. The quarter glass and door glass are plastic. The quarter windows do not function. The door windows do function. New tires and wheels. Interior was redone. The engine is a completely rebuilt 409. 11:1 compression, roller cam, runs off 93 octane pump gas. Dual quads, MSC ignition and distributor. Engine starts, ides, and runs very well. Transmission is a Super T10 with a new Centerforce clutch, flywheel, and Lakewood scatter shield. The shifter is a Hurst Competition Plus. There is a Hurst Line Lock. New aluminum radiator. New Dougs ceramic coated headers. New exhaust (ends just past the doors). All new fuel lines. New Jaz fuel cell and battery mounted in the trunk. All lights and turn signals work. Rear is original style, 4:56 posi P-case. No wipers, heater, doors locks, glove box, inner fender wells, or hood springs. The left rear tire rubs the fender a little bit, caused the fender to heat up, and caused a bubble in the paint (visible in pictures). Car starts, idles, runs, drives, and stops very well.
