RARE Dick Van Dyke MR. POTTS Doll Mattel 1968
This is a rare toy from the Movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Dick Van Dyke as the inventor Caractacus Potts.
Overall he is pretty sturdy with no MAJOR holes, tears, stains, etc. His coloring and facial features look good with no fading.  He has his red paisley bandana/scarf attached which I noticed is sometimes missing when he comes up for sale.   He is used and vintage and has flaws as follows: General dinginess all over and smells quite musty.  Left hand and white shirt and back of corduroy jacket are especially dingy. Needs gentle cleaning and freshening all over.
Sharpie on his butt, some noticeable stains on the back of left leg, nose, and white shirt collar.  Missing buttons from front of his corduroy jacket. Seams on top of "shoes" are splitting apart a little. Lastly, he does not talk anymore.  String pulls out and retracts; I don't know what it would take to fix his voicebox.
Overall he is a very collectible toy in decent shape that just needs some cleaning and freshening to display nicely, and possible repair to voicebox!
