Description
Like the more common red mangrove propagules, these are essentially small plants, with cotyledons (seed leaves) on the outside, and true leaves and the initial stem/root on the inside. They start out quite small, about the size of a quarter, but growth will occur rapidly.Ideal growing conditions are provided by a water level that is just below the surface of the substrate: leaving the propagules moist but not submerged.
Black mangroves are often found mixed with other mangrove species in Florida estuaries, and the leaves of mature plants have a distinctive, silvery sheen when viewed from below.
Propagules are carefully screened for quality prior to shipment. My goal is to deliver you healthy starter plants.
