Description
Alan Benes ST. LOUIS CARDINALS GAME USED & AUTOGRAPHED BAT.This natural finished beauty is a Louisville Slugger model C271 bat and it exhibits medium game use. There is pine tar on the handle, bat rack and ball marks on the barrel and a crack at the Louisville Slugger oval, which is very hard to see. The bat measures 34” and weighs 32 ounces.
I purchased from a very reputable California sports business in August of 1997, and you will receive my original sales receipt and an accompanying letter from the sports business, who obtained the bat from a LA Dodgers rep. I was able to have Alan sign the bat in January of 1999 at the St Louis Cardinals annual charity event and I will include a photo that I shot of Alan, while standing in line at the event. Alan was an excellent, up and coming pitcher for the Redbirds in 1997. He started and won at LA on June 6, 1997, pitching 8 innings of 1 run baseball and this bat could have come from that 3 game series in June. I have enjoyed the bat for many years and it’s time to pass it on to another collector. You won’t find a nicer piece with timeline provenance to go with it. Contact me with any questions and thank you for looking.
