    Description

    Description
This is a great fireplace mantel
that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home.
It is made of cherry and is painted.
The shelf is trimmed in carved molding with a raised breast below the shelf.
The breast has applied beaded molding in a criss cross pattern and there are applied carvings in the middle.
The breast is supported by tall brackets with carved acanthis leaves on the faces and spoon carving on the sides.
The firebox is framed in egg and dart molding with carvings at the upper corners.
This is a very nice piece under all that paint.
Measurements are 64 inches wide, 50 tall and 12 deep.
The opening is 42 inches wide by 32 tall.
Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. One of the feet was cut but this can be covered with molding.
There is a chip at one corner of the shelf and a couple others along the back of the shelf. A piece of molding around the firebox is missing. Please look at the pictures carefully.

    Terms of Sale
I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
    About Us
My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting.  Steve and Michelle
