    Description

    Absolutely stunning arch top warm air wall grate (not a register) thus it can be repurposed into a classic design wall decoration or fireplace accent piece.
    Origin is New Orleans, as told to me by the picker. New Orleans had narrow width fireplaces as compared to colder climates in the USA that had fireplaces of 25" or wider to generate the heat required for the home. Looks like an early art deco design with Victorian highlights. Quite beautiful and, of course, unique.
    Measures 23 1/2" x 14” - de-rusted, primed and finished with Rust-O-Leum High temperature matte black finish. The two rectangular pieces on the back side are foundry reinforcements as the original melt had surface cracks which these plate reinforced. Solid casting resulted from the reinforcements.
