    Description

    Description
This is an amazing fireplace mantel
that was salvaged from a Pittsburgh home.
It is made of oak and is unpainted.
The molding at the top has small brackets giving it a castle like crenelated look.
Below are cabinets faced with 2 doors.
Each door has glass with a mullioned overlay and faux strap hinges.
There are square columns that go from the floor to above the cabinet, these have carved faces at the top.
It has faux dovetail joints and pegs to give it a medieval look.
Measurements are 60.25 inches wide, 79.25 tall and 13.25 deep.
The opening is 42 inches wide by 38.75 tall.
Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning.
The mullions over the glass are warped. The moldings around the firebox are missing. There are L brackets in several places to tighten loose joints. Please look at the pictures carefully.

    Terms of Sale
I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
    About Us
My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting.  Steve and Michelle
