    Antique Rusted Iron Round Head Spike Primitive Hardware tool or spike. The iron is magnetic.
    Condition is used. There is overall wear, rust, discoloration, pitting and corrosion. Online research indicates this tool may be a “Marlin spike”, which would have been used to form rigging from steel cable and rope. It would be used in marine ropework tasks such as splicing or untying knots. There is a hole going through the top head portion which has been partially occluded with rust. The spike is not perfectly straight. This item was found in a Pennsylvania barn and is sold as is and as found. Please zoom all photos for condition details.
