Antique SMITH Brass Reflecting/Borda Circle Sextant Navigation/Surveyor Tool

Check out this amazing piece of antique equipment – such a rare find, especially in this condition. This instrument has many names: Borda circle, circle sextant, reflecting circle, circumferator, and repeating circle. It is used to measure horizontal angles both for navigation and surveying purposes made by Smith & Co. Consists of a brass frame with a silver scale, magnifying glass, telescope, 3 mirrors & folding wooden handle. In good condition for it’s age. Some scuffs to magnifying glass and a few small chips in glass on mirrors. Just stunning and a great display piece. Approx: 10” diameter x 7 ½” deep (with handle fully extended).
