Description
Jungle vals (Vallisneria americana) also known as water celery, eelgrass and tape grass are a hardy, freshwater plants that are part of the tape-grasses family. It was one of the earliest aquatic plants used in the hobby, and remains very popular to this day. Jungle vals prefer slow moving water, and it primarily inhabits lakes, ponds, and streams. It normally grows in shallow water, and it's rarely found in depths greater than ten feet. It forms vast forests with its long ribbon leaves, which act as a refuge for numerous species of fish and invertebrates. Jungle vals are incredibly hardy, and can adapt to most water conditions. With that being said, they are one of the few plants that prefer hard, alkaline water and may experience slower growth in soft, acidic water. They are also one of the few plants that can tolerate brackish water, though this will negatively impact their growth rate and propagation. When choosing a substrate, either gravel or sand are acceptable. This plant doesn't require the addition of any CO2 to its aquarium.However, while no CO2 is required, they do benefit from the addition of an iron rich fertilizer. Fertilizer should be added to the tank water on a weekly basis, and it's usually best to add it after a weekly water change. Jungles vals do best under high lighting, though they will adapt to moderate lighting - with significantly slowed growth rates. The leaves should never be trimmed on this plant, and if the leaves are damaged in any way, they will usually just rot away and foul the water. If the leaves absolutely have to be trimmed, they should be trimmed with very sharp scissors. The leaf will sometimes survive this type of trimming without dying off. Care Level: Very Easy Water Conditions: 6.0 -9.0 pH and Moderately Hard to Very Hard Temperature: 64-82°F (18-28°C) Quantity: 6 rooted plants.

LIVESTOCK
We guarantee live arrival on all of our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 24 hours. Keep in mind these plants just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and be at their best again. Please Take clear photos of the dead product and send it to us within 24 hours of receiving the item and once the item is validated by us we will send a replacement or refund minus the cost of shipping. Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.
If you are concerned about extreme heat or cold, we highly recommend having the post office hold your mail for the estimated delivery day. This is a completely free option which can be requested online via www.usps.com or in person at your local post office. This way, your package will remain indoors, protected, and out of the elements for you to pick up once the package has arrived.
We guarantee live arrival of all live stock. This means we assure that live stock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive.
