    Description

    Conn ST-6 Strobotuner
The Conn Strobotuner model ST-6 was made by Conn, C.G. Instruments Ltd of Elkhart, IN, and was considered an 'industry standard' instrument tuner thru the 1950s/60s. It uses tubes and two neon lamps NE2H. It has a microphone with a cable inside the lid including the power cable.
You can play sound into the crystal mic, or directly into the unit via a 1/4" plug (not sure if a pre-amp is needed), and the spinning wheel will "strobe" different sections if you're in tune (see video; my apologies for the sound).
The unit has been previously worked on. A capacitor base is broken, and it's easy to spot newer wiring and other components. While "functional", many of the parts will be out of spec. Resistors are cheap to replace, so thar should be done. The caps are another issue, since the values and voltages tend to not match today's standards. There's a dual 40 uf/475 vdc electrolytic cap that could be replaced with 2 separate 40 uf/500 vdc caps (tie the grounds together; hide them in the old can). It all depends on if you really want to put this to use (Jimmy Page's guitar guy used an ST-6 backstage), or just have it around as a display piece.
I will pack bubble-wrap around the tubes and broken cap, and use a pretty big box, but it might still get damaged in shipment (USPS...ugh). However, it will have insurance on it, and repairs aren't that hard if you've worked on old tube stuff before. A schematic is included so that you know the original component values.
The "Power On" incandescent light bulb has been replaced with an LED bulb. Kind of dark, though.
