Darryl Strawberry Los Angeles Dodgers game used bat. Obtained directly from the stadium during the 1993 season. Bat has been in my personal collection since then.
Darryl Strawberry burst onto the Major League scene in the early 1980s like few others ever have. The young Mets phenomenon snagged the NL Rookie of the Year in 1983, slugging 26 home runs and 74 RBI.
Although a bonafide superstar with the NY Mets from 1983 thru 1990, Strawberry struggled with personal demons that eventually derailed a potential Hall of Fame career.
In 1991, Strawberry was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers as a free agent, and things seemed to be turning around for the troubled Superstar. But after a terrific first season, things began going downhill again.
Released by the Dodgers at the beginning of the 1994 season, Strawberry had stints with the Giants and Yankees, finally retiring in 1999.
This bat is labeled Los Angeles Dodgers, and shows light game use, but handle shows obvious signs of handling. Number 44 on knob and barrel end in black Sharpie.
This bat has been a part of my private collection for a quarter century, but is now available to become part of yours! Strawberry only played for the Dodgers for 2 seasons, so his bats marked with the Dodgers name are somewhat scarce. Don’t let this piece of baseball history slip away!
