Edwardian Antique Stained Glass Fireplace Screen
Original Leaded Glass!!
NO CRACKS or BREAKS!!!
This is a classic, Edwardian styled, Stained and Leaded Glass Fireplace Screen,
c. 1910, secured in a
Solid Brass, Split-Foot Frame.
There's a couple of things about this piece (you won't see on most stained glass fireplace screens) that really catch my eye. For one, notice the
textured
gray and yellow colored pieces of glass! These pieces create some interesting
textures
with daylight and really dance with light by a fire.
You might have also noticed that the checkerboard part of the design is "raised" from the brass frame - Think of how a beveled mirror is raised from its frame. Or, how the top of a jewel is cut with a step and table. ~ Very unique ~
