Red bush algae, also known as Gracilaria Hayi, is a perfect source of food for fish such as Angelfish, Tangs and snails. It also works to absorb nitrates from your tank and is reef safe. It?s bright florescent red colors make a beautiful addition to your tank or refugium. Red Gracilaria Algae is a very hardy macroalgae that helps to remove toxins from your tank and grows fairly fast. It is a natural way to improve the water quality in your aquarium.
A very desirable alga as it grows quite large, e.g., 18 inches (45 cm), and forms broad reddish branching growths from a central rhizome with its tips split into uneven ruffles. Requires strong light and moderate currents, and a well-balanced calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium levels that duplicate natural seawater.
Gracilaria algae may also be grown in the invertebrate or reef aquarium as long as the algae is not disturbed by fish or invertebrates. Anchor the algae between the rockwork of the aquarium, and the algae will take root and start to grow if it is given proper lighting and water conditions. Provide moderate flow and lighting with the supplement of Iron, Magnesium and Trace elements. High levels of phosphates or nitrates will inhibit the growth of these algae.
Red Bush Gracilaria Algae is a beautiful species of red gracilaria features rigid, irregular shaped branches that form a tight symmetrical bush. It is lightly calcified, so the addition of calcium is recommended. Due to its lightly calcified branches its not known to be very palatable to fish or invertebrates.

The shipment must be received on the first delivery attempt. If you miss the delivery and the package is delayed a day or more because of it, we cannot accept responsibility for any losses. It is your responsibility to check the tracking number for delivery. The shipment must be sent to the correct delivery address on file according to PayPal, do not request shipment to be delivered to another address not listed on your PayPal or eBay account.
NOTE: We are not responsible for errors, postal delays, wrong addresses mail holds, or P.O. Box deliveries by the postal carrier. If USPS forwards your shipment in error, we do cover that type of mistake.
All claims must be made and or brought to our attention via eBay Messages within 24 hours of the package being delivered.
We ship
USPS Priority Mail (item will be shipped in an flat rate priority mail envelope)
the majority of the time and that takes usually 2-4 days to deliver. Please remember that the delivery date eBay shows you is just an estimate of arrival and not the real thing. You will get a tracking number it is important you check this tracking number 2-3 times each day to see when the box will arrive to your home. Please make sure you are at home the day of the arrival or arrange for someone to be there to receive the plants and that know how to properly care for the plants. The less time they spend in the box the better.
Shore Aquatic ships Monday & Tuesday in order to avoid the weekend. All orders placed after Monday 12 PM will be shipped the following Monday.
When will items ship?
We reserve the right to hold delivery due to inclement weather.
If you would like to receive your item faster, we recommend purchasing expedited mail.
Temperature is very important for live delivery of plants. Please check the 7-day weather forecast in your location before placing your order. If the temperature in the coming days are too low (below 35F) or too high (above 90F), please do not order.
NOTE: USPS is slower than normal due to COVID restrictions.
DOA/Damaged Claims:
It is our honor and privilege to serve you. We hope that you are satisfied with everything. If you are for some reason not satisfied, please let us know as we are here to help make this hobby easy and enjoyable!
Livestock:
We guarantee live arrival on all our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 2 hours of delivery. Keep in mind these plants just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and to be at their best again. Please take clear photos of the dead plant and send it to us within 2 hours of receiving the item and once the item is validated by us, we will send a replacement or refund.
Failure to comply with one or more of these policies will mean we can no longer cover you.
We guarantee live arrival of all livestock. This means we assure that livestock will show up alive. We do not guarantee your success in keeping the livestock alive/healthy. Lots of outside factors that we cannot control go into the success or failure of keeping livestock healthy. We are here to help but are not liable after you have received the livestock alive.
Do your plants have snails?
We try not to have snails/pests, but it happens, we remove any visible imperfections before shipment however to be 100% certain we suggest that you either do a 1:20 ratio bleach to water dip and/or wash the plants. Anytime you add something new to an aquarium it is important to rinse it off before adding just to be safe.
