Jiggs & Maggie comic characters figures wood folkart 1924 International Feature

Wonderful antique estate auction find.  Jiggs and Maggie comic characters crafted in wood Folk Art style .  They are original with original parts and clothing.  The little tag on the bottom of foot reads:  Copyright 1924 - International Feature Service - Pat. applied for. They are shown being held in metal display stands.  Jiggs is approx. 7 1/4" tall has his original cigar in his mouth, wearing an orange shirt and black pants.  Painted black and white wooden shoes. Arms and facial features are all hand painted wood.  Maggie is approx. 9 1/4" tall to top of her hair knot also wearing all original clothing with a black ribbon tie at bottom of her top.  Her shoes are also made of wood and painted black and white.  She has her hair in a knot on top of her head and is wearing a yellow head band and green earrings and gold bracelets painted on each arm.  Her arms legs and facial features are also hand painted on wood.  Their bodies are also blocks of wood.  The paint is amazingly good for thier age with little wear.  As noted above Maggies skirt has some age stains.  There are no rips or tears to their clothing.  I believe Maggie should hold a rolling pin in her hand but there was NO rolling pin with her when we purchased.  We are offering this antique set in AS FOUND CONDITION.  Wonderful to add to a collection or display!!(please double click on photos for enlargements)
