The carved eyes are made of dense lignum vitae wood which are encased in their brass housings attached to thick solid brass straps. On each, the dead eye itself is 3 inches in diameter and 1 3/4 inches thick. The heavy brass strap is 16 1/2 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. This is a very unusual, especially beautiful set.
