H&B L/S Baseball Bat was awarded to Mike Schmidt prior to the 1986 MLB All Star Game for his selection to the National League All Star Team.  Later it was given by Schmidt to a lifelong friend of his, a renowned Philadelphia Sports Broadcaster.  It has been in his collection ever since.
The bat, while not used in a game, was actually used by Schmidt in Batting Practice.  Rather than embellish the game-use element,

and instead pointed out to me that Schmidt, being the fierce competitor that he was, would rather use one of his regular bats for the All-Star Game, as his regular bat was exactly tailored to Schmidt's desired specifications.  His competitive pride wouldn't allow for any disadvantage on such an important stage as the All Star Game.  That however didn't prevent the Hall of Fame slugger from taking batting practice cuts with his Presentation Gift Bat.
