A monumental fireplace mantel was hand carved in the Renaissance manner of solid oak in France about 1890. Spiral columns, lavish paneling and sculpted heads are truly artistic.
The original finish is very well preserved, and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
This antique architectural salvage separates into three pieces.
The fire opening is 58" wide and 65" tall, overall size is 91" wide tip to tip, 26" deep and 85 1/2" tall.
