Offered in 4oz cups, giving you a large portion to work with, rather than a few leaves.
Some leaves are expected to melt under extreme conditions and delays.
A large portion of leaves are offered to make up for any that are lost in transit.
Please be mindful of USPS delays and heat waves.

I use a high output RGB led that has higher red wavelengths.
It helps to use a similar type of light, or full spectrum, to produce vivid colors.
New growth will be vibrant red if you provide the right conditions.
If you have high nitrates and low light, the leaves will grow green.
The colors will slightly fade during transit and s
ome leaves may die, but you'll have more than enough to start out.
As long as they don't arrive black and they can float, they will recover and propagate easily, very quickly.

You get a 4oz cup full of enough red root floaters to scape one big tank, or several smaller tanks.
Some leaves are red, some green.
They multiply fast in the right conditions.
These are grown in my aquascape tanks. I have them for color contrast and because they help decrease nitrates.
The red roots usually don't grow more than an inch long, which makes them easier to manage.

Grown in their own tank. No algae, no snails and no pests.
As long as you quarantine the plants for cleaning when your receive them, you can take a closer look to confirm.
Shrimp love these plants and appreciate the shade they provide.
They will hang out among the red roots from time to time.
Acclimation time will vary between different tank parameters.
Plants will need more time to adjust if water parameters vary greatly. This is due to shock.
If you replicate my water parameters shown below, as close as possible, it will reduce shock and acclimation time.
If high output lighting is used with the below parameters, leaves will grow red.
Without proper conditions, leaves will grow green.

This is the most optimal range that I have been growing my red root floaters.
Please try to match them as much as possible or the plants will require more time to acclimate and recover.
I dose my own mix of nutrients weekly.
Use your favorite, all in one fertilizer.
Little to no nitrogen in the nutrients.
Regular Iron and micros are important.
HOW DO YOU GET THEM SO RED?
-HIGH OUTPUT LIGHT AND LOW NITRATES!
My main light is a high output LED that brings out colors more vividly with a custom set spectrum.
Strong light
helps them grow red
(5500-6500k 30w+ True watts. Not the cheap "equivalent" led's from Wal-Mart).
Along with high light, you need to reduce nitrates and supplement iron.
If you are dosing too much N or Nitrogen, they will produce green leaves.
Increased bio load (Nitrate), will cause them to grow green as well.
GROWING TIPS:
CALM WATER. NO BUBBLING.
Don't let the tops of the leaves get wet. Even when cleaning, just rinse the roots and handle them carefully.
Red root floaters are easily shocked from changes like parameter swings to temperature changes. Keep things consistent.
They require little to no surface agitation. If the water is too turbulent, they will not grow and they will melt.
The water doesn't need to be too calm, but calm enough that they aren't tumbling.
No bubbles anywhere around the leaves.
Circulation below the surface, with a powerhead is perfectly fine.
DO NOT USE FLOURISH EXCEL OR API CO2 BOOSTER,
unless you have experience.
High doses of these products are known to melt many plant varieties.
Many new aquarists dose them, then blame the seller for the plants dying shortly after receiving them.
If the roots are too short and won't grow, your tank has a lot of nutrients.
This can be remedied with regular small water changes and by adjusting your plant nutrients or bioload.
The roots grow longer in search for nutrients, but no more than an inch or two.
I do not recommend growing these with a lid on the tank. They need air. It would be too hot and humid under the lid.
I also do not recommend growing them in a tank that has filter vents near the top (fluval spec), as they will follow the current and clog the vent.
This would decrease the efficiency of your filter. This is fine for a single betta tank or shrimp tank with a low bio load.

Red Root Floater is a beautiful floating plant with light green leaves that can turn blood red when kept under high light.
What makes this plant unique and highly sought after are the blood red roots that it has compared to the usual brown roots of other floaters.
This small floating fern can grow into thick mats that cover the entire top of the tank and block out light from below.
Its perfect for low tech aquariums and paludariums and can act as a good shading plant to prevent algae growth.

All aquatic plants purchased online, should be inspected, rinsed off and quarantined in a separate container with tank water, before placing them in your tank.
This helps clean off any potential mold or bacteria that can take place during transit and ensures plants are ready for their new home without contaminants.
