    Item Description
    This listing is for ONE  2 inch Revolver Box with all its papers, the exact box in the photos. Here is an original factory 2 piece blue box for Smith & Wesson 2 Barreled Small J Frame Revolvers.  Manufacturer was Smith & Wesson of Springfield, MA, and its subcontractors. We estimate production on this one as mid 1970s. This box bears a correct label that was never completed; it housed a 2 inch blued .38 Airweight Bodyguard, numbered model 38. Construction is two piece folded cardboard with steel edge hinges and with S&W blue paper overlay. Internal dimensions are 7 3/8 inches length, by 4 1/2 inches width or height, by 1 7/16 inches thickness. External dimensions are slightly more, of course. Revolvers shipped with muzzle pointed to the box corner on these, diagonal positioning. For dimensions on the revolvers, please consult smith-wesson com. This box comes with its original tri-fold instruction manual, edition of 1955; with original never completed factory registration card; with protective factory Nox paper; with holster flyer; and with Warranty Station list. Surface detractions are moderate, principally lateral side deterioration on the lid section, weakness on the lid top, and edge wear to the box pieces themselves. We rate it as Very Good Condition, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. This box is correct for any model 38, and acceptable for most any 2 inch J frame, manufactured from mid 1960s to mid 1980s.
