beautiful S&W large frame 4" barrel revolver presentation case.  The case is a classic French fit handgun presentation case
designed with luxurious soft purple velour lining that includes a custom cutout for the placement of a box of ammunition

Although uncertain, I suspect this case may be designed to hold a larger frame S&W handgun like the Model 686 or the Model 28 (Highway Patrolman) model revolvers for example.  For your further consideration and reference, I did try placing both my 4" S&W Model 19 and a 4" Colt Python in the case and neither handgun fit.  Only the S&W M&P model pictured in the description photos aligns with the fitted configuration but is obviously much smaller than the revolver the case was designed to hold.  The aforementioned notwithstanding,

Please read; this presentation case is being offered in "as is" condition for "repair and/or restoration" as noted.  For the above reasons and because I do not know what specific S&W
model
revolver the case is fitted for and designed to accommodate there is a no return policy for this item.
The case is constructed out of wood with
a hinged flat mitered trimmed edge lid.  The inside of the case's lid is also padded and lined.  The outside of the box has a rich looking black pebbled leatherette covering.  The outside measurements of the presentation case are approximately 12-3/8" across, 8.0" wide and 2.50" tall.  The inside of the case measures approximately 11.25" across and 6-15/16" wide.
This vintage 50 year old presentation case is in overall good condition with a few noted exceptions as follows.
The outside surface has normal wear and handling surface blemishes as you would expect to see on a piece of this age.

The right side small brass hasp latch is missing and will need to be repaired and/or replaced.  Refer to description photos for more details.
The interior velour lining where the end of the handgun barrel sits in the fitted cut out has been torn away and will also need repair and/or replacement.  The good news is the torn and missing piece of lining is less noticeable once the revolver is placed inside the fitted case because the barrel covers the noted issue.

Overall, this is a quality made true vintage (1970's to early 1980's) PELSON, Inc. S&W 4" revolver presentation case that is a collectible piece in its own right.  This presentation case is worthy of your time and attention and can very easily be repaired with little effort.  The needed small replacement brass latches are readily available for minimal expense as is the soft velour lining.  Don't pass this beauty by; if you recognize what S&W model revolver will properly fit inside this fitted case you have the advantage and the opportunity to acquire a beautiful piece to enhance both your handgun and your collection.
