    Description

This H&B Louisville Slugger 125 pro model bat dates specifically to the 1976 marking period, when for only one year, H&B replaced POWERIZED with the bicentennial logo on the their professional model game bats. This one was made for Tex Simone the long time General Manager of the Syracuse Chiefs AAA ball club. It is in great condition with strong burned-in marking and no damage other than a few ball strikes. It is 35" long and fairly heavy. Tex was a well liked and very involved GM with the Chiefs and no doubt liked to occasionally take batting practice with his team. This was obtained directly from the personal collection of John Simone, Tex's son, and also a Chiefs GM following his dad's retirement. A super Syracuse Chiefs collectible bat used by one of the teams most memorable figures and likely a ONE OF A KIND item, as after 1976, the Liberty Bell logo no longer appeared on their bats. Given the significance of the Simone family's contributions to baseball in Syracuse, this bat would be a rare and important addition to any Chiefs collection.  LOCAL PICK-UP in the Syracuse area is available should the buyer prefer to avoid the shipping charges, but, must be arranged PRIOR to purchasing.
