Description
A very unusual piece....this is a free standing sink that is reportedly from the captain's quarters on a ship, although we also heard they were used in the VIP railroad cars in the early days of train travel. The piece is in great shape for its age...there is a metal lined well in the back of the piece where the cabin attendant poured the water supply. The water gravity fed to the faucet in the sink (which is covered by a slanted face when not in use) and it drains to a bucket that would have been placed in the bottom of the piece behind the two doors for the cabin attendant to empty. The inside of the cabinet where the bucket would have been placed shows wear in the shape of the receptacle but is solid and the outside of the cabinet is in very good shape...appears to have been well cared for. We have listed this as local pickup, but would be willing to work with a shipper at the buyers cost. We've used UShip in the past and can facilitate getting a quote for the buyer. Thanks for looking!
