    Antique Circa 1880-1890 Wood Summer Fireplace Screen. The screen is a painted floral still life on one side and antique velvet on the reverse. The frame is designed to allow the left side to slide apart to remove the screen for alternative screen possibilities. This item is a little odd in this manner as it might appear to be "unglued" on the left side but it was designed to come apart for adjusting screens. The item is a little loose in this respect but when put together stands on it's own fine. The painting is in very good antique condition. The velvet is faded and with some threads as shown. This kind of screen can be seen in the stereoscope image provided from the Green Room in the White House in 1900. The card is included with purchase! See photos for details!
